Simple Password Security System
A Practical Guide for Better Password Protection
From the Desk of Dream Writer Lady Ariarose, DWAR At Your Service
Are you tired of forgetting passwords or using the same weak password everywhere? Here's a simple system that creates strong, unique passwords you can actually remember!
The Basic Formula
[Your Numerology Number] + [Today's Date] + [Position Bonus] + [Personal Date Modifier]
Let me break this down step by step:
Step 1: Your Numerology Number
Take your first name and convert each letter to its position in the alphabet:
A=1, B=2, C=3... Z=26
Add all the numbers together
Keep adding until you get a single digit
Example: SARAH = S(19) + A(1) + R(18) + A(1) + H(8) = 47 → 4+7 = 11 → 1+1 = 2
Step 2: Today's Date (Long Form)
Use the full date format: MMDDYYYY
IMPORTANT: When I say "today's date," I mean whatever date you create your password - do ALL of them on the same day, no matter the reason. When you add a new account, CHANGE it all up!
This way, you can write in your calendar a date with someone important. Call that special person up, make it a phone date, or send an important text - something you write in your calendar to remind you to connect with someone once a month. Make the date one to remember, and if you circle it in your calendar book and anyone thinks it has anything to do with passwords, you can honestly say, "I needed to remember to talk to them."
That's what I do every time I reset passwords - I connect to someone. It makes password updates something positive rather than a chore!
I also change up who I am connecting to each month for this. I have lots of people in my life, and I have moved over 40 times. Forty times! And yes, eventually your distant pals stop talking to you. Life gets us all, but if you never make the effort with folks, it will end all that sooner. And who knows? You might be able to make it last. I still have friends from high school over 20 years ago. We don't connect often, but every time we reach out, it builds a new branch back to our tree. Makes us grow healthier.
Did you know that one of the hardest things for people to face is loneliness? So let's not be lonely when we make our passwords. Talk, chat, relate.
Oh, and you can even add in a bonus number to your equation - something they said, something that made it just that much better. Something RANDOM. Why do that? If you're looking for the memory that sparks your password change, you pay attention just a little bit more.
Example date: July 24, 2025 = 07242025 (the day you called your best friend and they mentioned their cat turned 3)
Bonus number from conversation: 3
Next month: August 20, 2025 = 08202025 (video-called your sister; she said she's planning a trip in 2 weeks)
Bonus number: 2
Step 3: Position Bonus
Number your accounts/platforms in alphabetical order, then use that position:
Amazon = 1
Email = 2
Facebook = 3
Google = 4
etc.
Step 4: Personal Date Modifier
Pick a meaningful date (birthday, anniversary, etc.) and use modulo 3-9:
Your birthday: March 15, 1990 = 03151990
Divide by a number 3-9 (your choice)
Use the remainder
Note: The 3-9 mod can result in zero, and who cares! When it's zero, you have two sides of the equation - your special number can be the denominator AND the remainder. Use either or both!
Examples:
03151990 ÷ 7 = 450284 remainder 2 (use 2)
03151990 ÷ 3 = 1050663 remainder 1 (use 1)
Some calculation = remainder 0 (use 0, OR use your denominator number, OR use both!)
Flexibility is key - if remainder is 0 and you used ÷ 5, you could use 0, or 5, or 05!
Put It All Together
Sarah's Amazon Password (Updated with Conversation Bonus):
Numerology: 2
Date: 07242025
Position: 1 (Amazon is first alphabetically)
Modifier: 2
Conversation bonus: 3 (friend's cat is 3 years old)
Final Password: 207242025123
Sarah's Email Password:
Numerology: 2
Date: 07242025
Position: 2 (Email is second alphabetically)
Modifier: 2
Final Password: 20724202522
Why This Works
✅ Unique for each account (position number changes)✅ Changes monthly (date updates)✅ Easy to remember (follows your system)✅ Hard to guess (personal modifiers)✅ Long and strong (10+ digits)
Pro Tips
Write down your system (not the passwords!) somewhere safe
Use the same modifier number for consistency
Add symbols if the platform allows: 20724202512! or 20724202512@
Always add symbols when you can - even if it's "optional"!
Add bonus phrase with MOD capitalization:
Take your bonus phrase and capitalize every Nth letter based on your MOD number
Example: MOD 3 = haRpeRfaIryDen, MOD 5 = harpErfaiRyden
MOD the platform name too if possible:
Apply same capitalization pattern to website name
MOD 3: amAzoN, MOD 5: amazOn
Use maximum characters allowed: The only reason to add the platform name is to use as many characters as you're allowed
Write down character limits: Keep track of each platform's password requirements
Amazon: 20 characters max, requires symbol
Gmail: 100 characters max, symbol optional
etc.
Full Example with Everything:
Superlazy version: 20724202512!AMAZON
Secure version: haRpeRfaIryDen20724202512!amAzoN (MOD 3)
Important: Even if you're superlazy and skip the bonus phrase, you still get a decent password - but you're missing out on the real security!
Monthly Updates
Simply change the date portion each month:
August passwords: 08242025
September passwords: 09242025
etc.
Security Notes
Never share your personal modifier calculation
Use different modifier numbers for banking vs. social media
Consider this a starting point - you can always make it more complex!
Important Disclaimer
Note: No system is without flaws, and so even this fine way can be problematic. I cannot guarantee your safety, and I will not be held responsible for the actions of others. I cannot promise that a breach at Amazon doesn't happen and passwords will not be leaked. Or if you store it on your computer to save your mind from a meltdown, so that it doesn't get compromised. This is just a way to make really good ones. Nothing in this life is guaranteed. If I could wave a magic wand and protect everyone, I know from heartache I would, but I cannot do it. Be safe out there. Please be safe.
Remember: The best password system is one you'll actually use consistently!
And now you're going to say, "But DWAR Lady Ariarose, this isn't that simple!" I know, but password security is a serious business, and to me this is the SIMPLE version of what I do.
And really, you go and let Google set you a "secure" password with a full line of random numbers and letters - what are the chances you'll remember it on your lonesome? Some people can, but I bet they struggle with CHANGING it regularly.
All codes are hackable given enough time. The goal is to keep on changing it up. Heck, add in a bonus date to your system. Change things around along the pattern. Maybe instead of numerology, you assign the letters a chemical number. I've done the science root too. Awesome. Ah, so much fun - password security!
Stay safe online, and may your accounts be forever secure!
