I am scared of many things as I am such a small creature and there are many things that can hurt me.

I understand there are many creatures who are bigger.

Hey anxious chipmunk, why do you stand alert?

I sense danger in the area; many things can hurt me.

I understand, but I see nothing dangerous to you.

I am more sensitive to you. You would worry and stare if you were me. I am so little; so many things can kill me.

I do understand I was just letting you know what I had seen.

I appreciate it but leave me be.

Hey anxious chipmunk why is your nose twitching?

I smell danger and I'm tracking it. I am too small to fight. This little nose going fast has many times saved my life.

Now I understand and I will check but again I don't see the danger. But dear chipmunk I understand sometimes you are nervous for so many things can hurt you. I wish you didn't live as you do at times. You choose and love isolation, but everyone has the right to feel as they do but know from me you are safe but I know you will do what you feel you must do.
